first of all. thanks to all those who commented on the last post and i’m sorry i didn’t answer anybody. i was just lazy but of course all comments are very appreciated. i also wanted to say that it’s not like i didn’t like any of these frames but overall i was just not very content because there was so much crap on all of em. of course i really do like some of the photographs. i’d rather have one good frame on one roll than 36 mediocre anyways, it’s just kinda frustrating while scanning.
unfortunately i didn’t put my film rolls in the carry on luggage so all of it got x-rayed on my way here. i developed one unexposed roll in the lab to see if it’s “clean” after i have arrived and it was totally blank. great i thought. i clearly have white stripes on one of the new rolls though… not too bad cause it was a +3 supposed for party stuff etc. but it still sucks…
uploaded the pics in this post 600px wide due to the slow internet connection that i have here. probably better like that cause it will be much faster and not too much people click the fullview anyways.

locked out at the metro station cause he “just used” it. they lock it for 5-10 min. or something so you can’t share one unlimited card.
been to a yankees game. we were very late though, arrived during the 8th inning (of 9). but the 9th inning was the best part of it anyways. yankees behind 3-6 at the beginning and another homerun for the other team (i forgot who they were) so it was 3-7 and a lot of people already left the stadium. but the yankees thought back 7-6 with no outs and the bases loaded so they easily could have won it and the crowd got really excited. they lost though.
very stereotypical americans. and very drunk. they tried to start a little chat with us… one of em was a heart surgent, offering us we could take pictures during one of his surgeries… they’ve come to NYC for 2 weeks just to see the yankees as often as possible. kinda weird.
this was by far the biggest dog i’ve ever seen. and a friend of my parents has an “irish wolfs hound” which are supposed to be the biggest dogs. this one was way bigger though. he could barely walk cause his feet were too long and i heard people next to me saying in desbelief “it’s like a cow”. the guy owning the dog was at least 1,85m and back of the dog was about were is jelly button was. and when the dog raised his head he could reach his chest!

made a little trip upstate to spend the weekend in matthias’ (the photographer) house.
spent sunday at some river… great afternoon! kinda saved my weekend cause originally i wanted to go to the “rock the bells” festival where Nas, a tribe called quest, jedi mind tricks, the pharcyde, rakim, redman, blue schoolars ETC ETC ETC played. almost perfect line up for people who like good hiphop music. i was stuck upstate though… but.. as i said. the natural jacuzzi kinda saved the day.
we basically just stopped at the highway to get there.
back in da city.
x-rayed +3 from now on. it’s not obvious in all the frames but you can see it very clearly in some.
“wet paint”
this is me. and i have no idea how i ended up on a roll of mine with the camera in my hand and no mirror. probably this ist stefans bessar and he took one of me with mine… can’t remember.
went to see the movie “captured” in the webster music hall… great documentary about the lower east side of NY and how much it changed from drug addicts, hardcore punk and riots to yuppie stuff. a photographer living there documented this for more than 25 years. my sister’s boyfriend opened the night with his band a.r.e. weapons so i took a snap. totally overexposed though due to i have changed the roll to +3 but forget to set the asa to 3200… stuff like that happens to me all the time.
this guy is a photographer as well (repro stuff for galleries. my sister wanted me to take a snap of em cause.. yeah whatever..)… he said the pic probably will turn out a bit dark. ahm well… i even managed to overexpose it….
once again on our way to the beatrice inn after the movie and dinner…
oh yeah. same old story. cant remember taking these but i think this is the black guy i kept telling that i’m not gay.
can’t remember this one either. nore the people. you can see the x-ray stripes pretty clearly in this one though.
there’s only one more week left. time passes by fast and i hope i’ll shoot a lot this week. cya
