got myself a new camera – “DS max hc2000″. not as fancy as the name would indicate. bought it at the leicashop fleamarket. this camera, a loup and another camera alltogether cost 1€ so it’s not like i wasted lots of money… just found it’s a fun camera.. probably the most simple camera you can possibly built for 35mm film. it has one aperture and one exposure time and a fix focused plastic lens, no bulb. sounds like a bit like a downgraded holga for 35mm 
. anyways… also got like 10 rolls of expired film for a couple of €s so i wanted to give it a try. don’t think i will use it again… i thought the aperture/exposure prob. is smth. like 1/100s f/8 which would be fine for daylight… but i guess it’s smth. like 1/250 f16. the first roll which i mainly shot during a sunny day is still underexposed at least 2 stops. i used expired asa400 film so this might be a factor aswell.

at first i really fell in love with this camera… but the results are quite disappointing.
these are some of the “well exposed” ones.
but the really interesting thing is that i have very similar scratches to my BW stuff, taken with completly different cameras and developed by myself. i always blamed myself for the scratches…
but this roll has been processed by a lab and has the exact same scratches… which leaves one plausible reason. the scanner. anyone ever experienced smth. like that with a nikon V ed or other nikon scanner?
i mean… sometimes i have seen scratches on BW rolls before scanning them.. but that was only a very few rolls from morocco… and the scratches were much bigger on these.. could be for example sand in the camera as well…
i think i have different kind of scratches for different kind of reasons… which makes the whole evaluating process a bit complicated. but i’m pretty sure the scanner is responsibe for these small ones… the strange thing is they are not straight (neither parallel to the film). the position varies aswell… very weird stuff.. no idea how the scanner could do that.
so if somebody has an idea about whats going on with all these scratches please let me know… cheers, aschi
